A comedian, Shane Montgomery, at the top of his career decides to play the ultimate joke on his audience: he'll fake his own death. After years in hiding, however, he realizes that life out of the spotlight is not exactly what he thought it would be. He discovers that there are various obstacles keeping him from getting his old life back.
