Description
A guide to social media management for companies who use websites and social networks to better enhance their online presence, to ultimately, increase sales.
Despite only being 3 months into my apprenticeship at AsOne Design, I have acquired some valuable knowledge about the digital marketing of a business. I’ve found that clients that take full advantage of social media have an overall better online presence, which can ultimately contribute to the success of their business. Here are some tricks of the trade and some important tips on social media management for your business.
Along with some tips to help your website rank better on Google, I have also included some tips on what not to do, and how "SEO" companies will con you into thinking that their jargon actually means something.
Link building used to be the main service of any “SEO” company, however, since Google caught onto people buying links from obscure websites, they started to devalue those and heavily punished websites with links from poor websites rather than bumping them up the search engine results pages.
There are some great tactics to use to enhance your online visibility, which are all above the table, such as using Google + to market your business.
AsOne are always talking to Innovation Club members about the benefits Google+ could bring to their website.
One of the biggest benefits is that when you share a post, or a link; when somebody who has you in their circle searches for that key phrase, you appear far above any of the competition.
A poorly designed website could hinder your business
Whilst browsing websites to purchase a product or a service, you may make the conscious or unconscious decision to or not to go ahead with the purchase and you may leave the site.
Unless you know the exact place you want to buy the product/service from, you will probably do a bit of online shopping, compare prices, make sure it’s in stock or available in your area and then you’ll either buy it then, come back later or go to the store to buy it.
"A good designer will fit everything that the customer wants into the website, a great designer will include what the customer wants to see on the site."
