The Basics of Networking: How a web page request works

The main objective of this booklet is to review key fundamental networking principles by following the trajectory of a web page request. Kurose and Ross on page 495 of Computer Networking: A Top-Down Approach, describe what happens behind the scene once a web page is requested by a user and eventually displayed in a browser. In this booklet, fundamental concepts of networking will be covered by offering a commentary on the steps outlined by Kurose and Ross about the life of a web page and the discussion will shed light on those steps by explaining all the different components involved with each step and how the various components function together.
