Textbook of Machine Drawing

This textbook is divided into seven modules, which covers the fundamentals of manual drafting, principles of orthographic views like multiview projection and sectional view drawing and design and drawing of joints in machine components, such as threaded fasteners, keys, cotters, welded joints, riveted joints and pipe joints. It further teaches the concepts like dimensional tolerance, geometrical tolerance, and surface texture of machine components, and the assembly of mechanical power transmission units like couplings, bearings and pulleys is further illustrated. The modules further elucidates on assembly of various mechanical machine parts like jigs and fixtures, engine parts, valves, screw jacks, vice, and centrifugal pump. The book is primarily intended to meet the requirements of students pursuing a degree or diploma course in Engineering.
