Wild Woman: A Journey Into Self Discovery

With the drumming of feet, she brings shadows into existence as they dance with her around the fire. Music of angels emanates from her throat. The rocks and trees listen with intent, while the wild animals slink around the edges of her magic. With a thundering stomp of her left foot all grows silent. Even the fire dies down to a smoldering stillness. She moves her arms in gentle soft circles, her eyes skyward as if speaking to the Gods. Then she holds still, as if waiting for an answer. Slowly she breathes in the misty air and begins moving her lips in song. Reaching into a pouch she wears around her neck, she takes a pinch of something and dashes it into the smoldering coals. I can not quite make out her words. I hold deathly still, fearing she may sense my presence. A grin streaks across her face, as if the Gods have shared a secret with her. Again, she starts to drum the ground with her bare feet. Sounds of centuries past escape her lips. The fire moving to her rhythm raises and falls as her feet stomp the damp ground. I creep closer, it is important for me to hear her words as if my very life depended on the message she sings into the moonlit night. Dancing around the fire, she drives her intent deeper and deeper into the ground. I am in awe, with this wild, magical woman. I yearn to feel her rhythm with the universe. I am driven by a need deeper than I have every experienced to enter into her circle.
