The Promised Land

Every face shone with a radiant happiness, and suddenly, from the throat of each one in that innumerable gathering of humanity, a song arose in which Creation, too joined in: the majestic planets and blazing stars revolving in their orbits in space, all land animals great and small, gleaming fish and chanting birds, every plant and flower and tree, and every living thing, lifted its voice, and expressed in intricate harmony, its ecstatic joy, vibrating the very universe itself, like a melody plucked on the strings of a giant harp.
