The Haumana

"Nominated for two Nā Hōkū Hanohano Awards, The Haumāna Motion Picture Soundtrack features original songs by some of Hawai`i’s top recording artists, including Robert Cazimero, Lehua Kalima, and Nicholas Jon Navales. It also includes traditional oli and chants, and contemporary hit songs by Nā Palapalai and Baba B. This unique blend of traditional and modern music of Hawai`i is the musical reflection of The Haumāna movie and the journey the characters go through to connect with their identity and heritage. The Haumāna is the first narrative feature film about traditional hula and has won several awards and screened to sell out houses in theaters across the United States and abroad. It is the first independent film produced entirely by a Hawai`i production company to achieve such an accomplishment. The soundtrack is produced by Hawaiian music veteran Shawn Pimental."
