Eric Wall co-founded Derby Counselling & Therapy Centre (now Derby Counselling Centre) in 1981 and was its coordinator and a counsellor and therapist until his death in 2004. He also ran a Diploma Course at the Centre and supervised other counsellors and therapists.

A Fresh Look at Some Counselling & Therapy Themes was written in response to requests from fellow-workers and students at the Centre for a concise exposition of his theory and practise. The result is a carefully reasoned, step-by-step description of his unique working methods which will prove illuminating to counsellors, therapists and self-helpers (clients) alike.
