'Reconciliation' is a very short story that was written in homage to a new and important book by a young naturalist named Paul Rosolie. The book is 'Mother of God' and it is as much a thrill-a-minute adventure story, terrifying and suspenseful, as it is a spiritual pilgrimage to the future. Rosolie is a talented writer and in 'Mother of God' he takes his reader on a wild ride through some of the last remaining, and fast disappearing, wild places on the planet. 'Reconciliation' is an attempt to echo Rosolie's question about the future of the Amazon and what development of natural resources entails for humanity.
