After being abandoned by her prostitute mother and raped by her heroin-addicted uncle, Jay, a 20 year old lesbian, tries to escape the drug-filled reality of Southeast, DC. Between starting her own business and meeting the love of her life, Ciara, Jay is confident that the rape, drug-use, and murder that she has experienced will no longer keep her down. She reaches a fork in the road when her long-time best friend, Morgan Parker adapts a new career dealing cocaine, which turns her into a ruthless monster who wont let anyone get in the way of getting what she wants. Emotions rise when Jay discovers that Ciara and Morgan have gotten too acquainted for their own good, which results in broken hearts and even broker wallets. Things take a turn for the worst when the father who once did not claim her, uses dirty tactics to become successful on Jay's dime. This story is full of twists and turns, and after all of the deceit, sex, and violence, Jay learns that she would have to do much more than relocate if she wants to escape the harshness of the city life.
