📖 Description
We often ask children to look at the beginning letter or “sound it out†when they are reading and get stuck on a word. This works for many words. However, there are some words that we want children to know by sight. (For example you can’t sound out the word ‘the’.) When children know and can quickly identify common sight words, it increases their ability to read. So it is important for children to learn these sight words as they learn to read.
The Read to Learn Books by Cathy Jipner introduce children to sight words one or two at a time. The books allow children to practice and master sight words as they move through the series. The 22 books are conveniently packaged in four sets. The sight words in this packet include all those beginning sight words.
Cathy Jipner has enjoyed teaching young people to read for over thirty years. She has been both a classroom and a literacy teacher. Currently Cathy is a literacy teacher and uses these books with the children at the elementary school where she teaches.
