Description

Tears of Adamas - A New Old-Fashion Fairy Tale (A short story by by award-winning, young adult, paranormal fiction author Su Williams.

Diamonds are the most celebrated, most coveted gem in history. It was once believed that gemstones were caused by fermentation in the stars. In ancient Greek, the word for diamond is adamas, (pronounced ad-am-us), which means unbreakable or unalterable. Tears of Adamas is the story of a treasure found in the tears of a beautiful girl.
In the vein of true old-fashion fantasy/fairy tales, Tears of Adamas is not without some darkness and slaying. As such, this may not be a story for young children, though, I'm sure I've seen death portrayed in nearly every Disney fairytale movie. Gaston falls to his death in Beauty and the Beast. Ursala is done away with in The Little Mermaid. And a plethora of villains are destroyed in many others. But, if this isn't something you want a young child exposed to...and it's all very delicately handled, no gore...this might be more appropriate for your middle grade to adult readers.
Tears of Adamas holds a 5 star rating and reviewers are saying: This is a sweet story. I highly recommend Tears of Adamas. It's not often you will get the chance to enjoy a new fairytale written in the same style of the ones of yesteryear.
I was inspired by another author’s story (Ellen Mae Franklin, Tarkeenian series) in which she created a character, a fire sprite, who cries molten silver tears.
I’ve included an excerpt from my Sunshine & Daisies novel. Sunshine & Daisies is a ‘feel good, anecdotal anthology’ meant to inspire memories of happy days gone by due out in early 2015.
