Bridge of Hearts

First Class Navy Builder Toni Priestman has moved on from a successful, if unexpectedly short military career. Hired to supervise the rebuilding of a covered bridge in rural Pennsylvania, she heads back north. The chilly winter drive ends in an equally chilly reception from a small town and a local builder who are not ready to welcome a beautiful, tough and competent outsider. The bridge project is personal for them, and turns personal for her as a man in a suit flashes his badge and begins to ask questions. Toni, fresh from legal entanglements in the Navy tries to separate herself from a rapidly developing scandal. She must walk a fine line between working for criminals and becoming one. Her freshly wounded heart must not be allowed to feel again, at least not yet. She knows a future full of possibilities looms for her at the end of the job. The problem is finishing the project without being entangled in the shady dealings of the local Borough Council, the bridge project manager and a mysterious company pulling the strings from behind the scene. Toni must bury her past and her feelings to complete the project without involving herself in affairs of the heart or foul play.
