Description
This short-story is about the Bongo Pack of wild dogs. For many generations the Bongos lived a regular comfortable dog life on a remote tropical beach. However, due to an extraordinarily rare mutation, the entire pack miraculously developed intelligence similar to human beings. This set in motion a roller-coaster journey of crazy adventures, new situations and poignant discoveries. The Bongos never left their territory, nor did they communicate with anyone outside their group. What remained of their existence has long since disappeared. However, the pack's entire mind-twisting saga was quietly conveyed to me by Shushu; the very last of the Bongo dogs. This is their story.
A note to readers
The Bongo Dogs is a satire on the worldwide pandemic of inactivity. Although inactivity is one of the biggest problems the world is currently facing, The Bongo Dogs was written from a place of optimism. There are no villains in this story, no accusations and no conspiracies exposed; all the characters are good hearted, thoughtful and have pure intentions and considerations. The ending is optimistic; all that is needed to solve the problem and enjoy life is to stretch a lot, do a bit of fun activity every day and eat clean most of the time.
The real-life heroes of this story are the fitness and human-movement instructors, spread in communities all over the world. These energetic men and women dedicate their lives and souls to prevent the Bongo fate from happening to us and need all the support they can get.
Even though inactivity is a serious and looming international problem and a personal issue for many, please remember that The Bongo Dogs is a fictional satire and equip yourself with an open mind and a healthy sense of humor!
The author is a Manual Physical Therapist and the developer of various exercise methods for people who are injured or healthy alike.
