Flow and Instrument accuracies based on Bernoulli's equation

Differential pressure transmitters became capable of taking square root of the DP signal about 30 years ago and I wondered if taking SR in the transmitter or readout device was more accurate? Presently most companies take SR inside the readout device and calculations show reading is more accurate when flow is greater than 50%. But if flow is less than 50% readings are more accurate when SR is in the transmitter.
