Q:"It seems that Those of The Margin could fit into many genres. Which genre do you feel is the best fit?"

At its heart, Those of the Margin is a ghost story but the ghost story is almost secondary. Primarily, this is a suspense/thriller. Yes, the ghost story is critical to the story and the love story also plays an important role but all of my Derek Cole Suspense Thrillers are, as the series title suggests, suspense/thrillers.

Q:"You wrote that this novel is based off a real psychological experiment. How did the 'Phillip Experiment' influence this novel?"

I wanted to blend in my personal interest in paranormal research into a very unique theory I have about ghosts. The Phillip Experiment served as background character development content for Margin while adding to the suspense of the story.

Q:"What's next for Private Investigator Derek Cole?"

The next book in the series is The Observer which will be very different from Heartless and Those of the Margin. In The Observer, Cole is fighting against something more terrifying than any heartless murderer or ghost that I could create: He is fighting against terrorism. The Observer is a high suspense novel that blends in a political thriller as well as my attempt to understand the mind of a terrorist.
