Elements of Civil Engineering (GTU)

Civil engineering as an application of physical and scientific principles has gained tremendous
momentum in the last few decades. Since civil engineering as a discipline is a wide-ranging profession including several separate specialised sub-disciplines, it is intricately linked to the knowledge of varied concepts like structures, materials science, geography, geology, soils, hydrology, environment, mechanics and other fields. Thus, civil engineering is concerned with the overall interface of human-created fixed projects with the greater world and its immediate surroundings.
