Description

A bouquet of quirky short stories told with intrigue and humor.

#1 Hot Release and #2 Bestseller in Short Stories (France)

Triumph: Collected Stories offers a glimpse into the lives of contemporary women around the world on the verge of breakdowns or breakthroughs.

In these interconnected short stories, you’ll meet a gang of gutsy gals, mothers-on-the-edge and anti-heroines, including Betty and Alabama, who feature in the forthcoming psychological suspense series, Polaroids, and Faye Ventures, who stars in the literary fiction trilogy, Go See the Kids (book one of which is permafree).

Interview with the Author

Q: What makes this short story collection special?

A: I wanted to put a variety of stories into one compelling book: there's some suspense, some coming of age tales, quirky romance, unreliable narrators, oddball families, women's friendships, even some travel humor. But what ties it all together are strong female protagonists and compelling literary fiction. Above all, I've written stories to keep you reading until late.

Q: Why should readers give Triumph: Collected Stories a try?

A: Triumph is a relatively short read but packs a punch. It reached #1 Hot New Releases for Short Stories (France) and #2 Bestseller in the same category. It's ideal for a book club where you can discuss which narrator you relate to the most: Are you a "Skye," "Faye," "Krista," or--heaven forbid--a "Stephanie"?

Ultimately, Triumph appeals to readers who enjoy quirky comedy, a little mystery / suspense, and stories of women in pivotal moments. It's also a glimpse into vastly different landscapes: exotic New Zealand, chic Paris and Rome, soulful India, and Southern Ontario Gothic.

Q: Can readers look out for more from you soon?

A: Yes! I'm in Legacy: An Anthology with my story, "How to Raise Cats in a Paris Apartment," plus a travel memoir about movement, money, myopia and men: Xamnesia: Everything I Forgot in my Search for an Unreal Life tracing how I left my native New Zealand for Asia and eventually landing in Paris where I've lived for the past 15 years... and book one of my literary fiction trilogy, Go See the Kids is also out with the paperback in Large Print as it's an intergenerational family saga.

Thank you for reading!!
