In which is explored the process of leadership the characteristics shared by effective people-leaders.

"The leader defines reality, sets the vision, outlines the strategy, congeals the team, executes the effort, and, finally, delivers his results. In the end, the vision will be realized or the vision will not be realized. And, separately, the results of the venture will be deemed desirable or undesirable. And, furthermore, the manner of the venture will be deemed desirable or undesirable. And, finally, the legacy of the venture will prove desirable or undesirable."

"When successful, the effective leader appropriately celebrates the accomplishment, recognizes the contributions and sacrifices of the whole, gives away credit to each deserving contributor, and articulates for all the story of the venture and the promise of the legacy. Meanwhile, the ineffective leader does not celebrate or over-celebrates the accomplishment, fails to recognize the contributions and sacrifices of the whole, seizes credit, inaccurately conveys the story of the venture, and fails to see its legacy or aftermath."
