Learning italian: 500 + words and phrases with translation

It has been very popular lately, and it has influenced very different aspects of the applied science: from the strategies to evade taxes to the theories of how to study languages. The original principle says “The 20 % of a total occupies always the 80% of space and time” It is a practical observation that has been proved more than once in different fields of human science.
It means that, for example, the 80% of the goods are in the hands of the 20% of the population; but also that the 20% of the effort is enough to achieve the 80% of the goal; going back to the purpose of this book, IT ALSO MEANS that the 20% of the most common words of a language usually forms the 80% of all the words used in a book, a movie or a normal conversation.
That is why it is so important to learn quickly the vocabulary of a language.

And that is why we have written this book in a way to give you a little more than the 20% of knowledge you need to speak and undestand the 80% of the Italian.
We have made a list of words from modern books and movies, and then we have put together a group of the 500 that are the most used.
Do not underevaluate this, because 500 words are SO MANY.

We have mantained as more as possible the literal translation, except when it would represent a mistake or a very weird way to speak.
For every Italian word that we have chosen, we have written the English translation. An example phrase is given for each word, following always the same scheme:

We have listed the verbs in its infinite form, and the adjectives and sustantives in singular form. In the expamples you’ll be able to see the conjugated verbs.
