What Only the Heart Can See

Marena Batista ‘s both Hispanic and black. Broken, bruised, battered she is on the run from her life in Puerto Rico, hoping for a new beginning. She quickly realizes her escape from the abusive monster that pursues her seems like the impossible dream. Fate never seems to be her friend.

Hunter Cole is Southern, white, and wealthy. However recently blinded in a construction accident he has traded his silver spoon for the chip on his shoulder. He too is running from love, loss, and betrayal. Busy fighting demons of his own, he is slowly learning you need more then eyes to see.

The unlikely pair find their lives quickly entangled as neighbors living in an upstairs/downstairs cottage on the island of St. Croix. They seem to be as opposite as their backgrounds and never quite able to make a connection with each other, being too wrapped up in their own individual dramas.

In the end, it’s debatable if either can be saved.
