His mind was a sea of memories and tasteless scenes, as his brain focused on bringing the slightest bit of rest to his body, when the process of minor relaxation was interrupted by a loud noise. Max sat up and honed his senses, trying to make out what was happening; the answer came too quickly when five men entered his room, surrounded him and covered his head with what he hoped was his pillowcase and not some other filthy fabric. He felt cuffs against his skin, and one of the men instructed him to be quiet.
