Who Was Pythagoras?

Do you know what the Pythagorean Theorem is? Do you know who discovered it?

Pythagoras was a Greek philosopher and mathematician who lived thousands of years ago. He believed that everything was related to numbers. Pythagoras said that mathematics was the basis of everything and that geometry was the greatest branch of mathematics. Aside from the Pythagorean Theorem Formula, he was also credited for the discovery of irrational numbers and contributed to the understandings of angles, triangles, areas, polygons, and other geometric areas of study.

But aside from mathematics, Pythagoras formed an organization where he taught his religious principles. People who were part of this group strictly lived by his rules, including the things they said, wore and ate. They were called the Pythagoreans. Members were sworn to secrecy and people outside their group didn't know about their activities.
