TRAIL of UNCERTAINTY: The Saga of Joshua Kreig

Uncertainty faced the Kreig family at a time in 18th century colonial America that was not much different from our own modern times. The world is on the brink of war between two old antagonists Great Britain, France and their allies. Waiting for a catalyst to spark the flame. It wasn't long in coming. Joshua was part of a successful shipping business headed by their family patriarch, Thomas Kreig. Himself a world traveler, frontiersmen, and businessman. Under his tutelage young Joshua would learn the skills he would later use. Apprenticed to his father, Joshua would not only learn what was expected of him as a young man in colonial Philadelphia but was exposed to some of the greatest minds of the time. Benjamin Franklin and others walked the streets with him. The family like those around them were concerned for their future. Some families saw their livelihood in jeopardy and the future in question. It was in this atmosphere that Joshua, his family, and fellow colonists, began to look at their world as separate from His Majesties Great Britain. Not ready to break the bonds that tied them but not ready to accept the status quo with the Mother country, England.
In the first volume Joshua is a boy of fourteen, quickly becoming a man as the French and Indian War is about to take center stage. His father and destiny have great plans for him, but for now young Joshua watches and learns as his parents endure the hardships of separation in the name of prosperity and security.
