Rear View Mirror: Don't Look Back!

Dr. Seymore Butts the world famous celebrity proctologist sat up in bed. He had just moved into the most elite suite at the Beverly Hills hotel, yet he felt alone and dejected. For some strange reason, he could not sleep a wink. Something was gnawing at the back of his mind.
He got up and wandered through the box-filled abode. Everything he owned was stacked in neat piles. A case of curious mementos caught his eye. He lifted out the greatest souvenir from his past.
The black plastic was smooth and warm to the touch and the tiny mirror's surface was completely unblemished. It was the rear view mirror from his first car, a 1969 Mustang Mach 1. Finally a smile grew across his haggard face. He placed the icon of his youth atop the centerpiece of his tiny dining room table. Then he slumped down in a chair.
"How in Hell did I get here?" he said with bitter words.
