This creative non-fiction book revolves around many areas: freedom, equality, homophobia, misperception, suicide, making peace with your past, truth, honesty, fear, empowerment, courage to be different, and most importantly --- continuing life with a renewed appreciation in a humorous tone.
Do you ever get a feeling that a troubled part of your past is begging to be re-examined? For years, I have tried to document details of my life from 1977 to 1979, but repeatedly failed. Too many obstacles. However, I never gave up. With each time that I failed, I had gotten one step closer to the whole picture. Along the way, one MIRACULOUS event had happened and it became a turning point for my mind to reach fully into my past. By early 2014, I had completed the first draft of Disco Inferno Diary. It contained over 100,000 words and was written using WordPad. WordPad? Well, I started small but very soon the idea for this book took on a life of its own! The first draft was a mess that looked like it was written by a lunatic. It was filled with unrestrained thoughts, jiberish, crazy humor, gut-wrenching emotions, and countless detailed events. While writing, my emotions had reached a boiling point at many, many times. Very frequently, I would write from 9am til 3am the next day. I could not shut myself down from writing once I started. I guess this is what happens when you rediscover long-forgotten painful emotions that you don't want to let go again. While arranging the structure for the final Disco Inferno Diary book, I knew I had to include the actual "process" of writing this book into the story itself.
Ultimately, this book is about resonations and revelations between past and present.
But, there are many insanely twisted surprises waiting for you throughout this book.
My mission is to promote a better communication between people through my story with imagination and humor. So get ready!
