This is the story of my great grandmother Bridget Vaughn Wilson and how she left Ireland penniless in 1851 to escape starvation during the potato famine.Over her lifetime, most of which was spent in Savannah, she faced enormous tragedies and experienced events the rest of us can only read about in history books. Incredible though it may seem this story is true.
