I used to be an ordinary small-town girl, working day and night just to make ends meet. But that changed when my mother married the king.

I used to think my stepbrother prince hated me. But that changed, too, when a night of jealousy and passion revealed the truth. I wanted my stepbrother…and he wanted me back.

I used to think it was happy-ever-after from there…but instead more trouble only awaited us. So much trouble but nothing was worse when I found out about the ball – a party where the prince was supposed to pick his bride…a party that the prince forbade me to attend.

God, I was such an idiot.
