Description

Had this happened to you too, earlier than expected?

Your little opinionated boy tells you: "I want to choose it myself!" – His clothes, toys, and which friend will come to visit in the afternoon.

How do you teach a child how to choose his friends?

How does a child learn to recognize true friendship?

What are the gains and losses when it comes to choosing friends?

How do I choose a gift for a friend?

Do I choose what he needs? Or do I choose a gift that I would like to receive?

What are the available choices of supporting a friend in times of crisis?

How does social pressure affect the choice of friends?

Hadar Kugel, Senior Advisor at the Adler Institution, states: "The significance of a child's choice is: to know what he wants, to exercise his judgement, to prioritize, and feel free to make a decision."

The inspiration for this book was provided to me by my twin grandson and granddaughter. The core story is the product of their imagination, and I decided to put it into writing.

The book in front of you: "Caring is Sharing and Giving", tells an imaginary story about friendship and making choices. This book is one of a series of books about providing a platform for children's unique voices and choices.

No child is born a choice-maker!!. In fact, a child is born as a disorganized system that experiences smells, sounds, needs and feelings, and the adults who care for the child are responsible to bring order to the system.

The book is intended for children of ages 6-10 and their parents.

The use of a fictional narrative about five fingers, enables the young listener to talk freely about friendship and making choices as an observer from the outside, but it also allows the child to identify with these issues and absorb them. The five fingers are body-less, but they are full of expression and thought. The five fingers have different shapes, expressions and attitudes, allowing a pleasant contemplation by the reader and listener, and arousing empathy and acceptance of differences and other people.

The story of the five fingers takes the reader and listener to a wonderful imaginary world. The humor, pain, sharing and giving, all make a good friend such a real gift, bringing the child back to coping with the real world.

I am sure that you will enjoy my book and recommend it to your friends.
