Thy Kingdom Come: The Kingdom of God Now and Forever

“Thy Kingdom come” represents a desire for the coming fulfillment of God’s recreation of humanity. However, the concept of the Kingdom itself has historically presented a variety of interpretations. All factions agree on its existence but disagree on its nature and implications. Views range from a future hope, present spiritual blessing, an alternative society, a utopian existence, the institutional church, to a political state. This work explores the relationship between the concept of the Kingdom of God and the redeemed community’s attitude and behavior.
