Description
This science fiction story is based in a small seaside town in southern England. Ben is surprised by being given a new charge in the shape of a large shaggy dog called Dave who arrives with the purpose to protect the home.
Dave soon becomes an essential part in the teenagers life. Out of the blue, something strange happens to Dave when he swallows something he shouldn't and the dog ends up having to go to the vets.
Ben finds that he is now faced with awful choices, however he finds he is now capable of resolving the challenges by himself. The story remains mostly unresolved and Ben finds himself tested further in part two where while many questions become answered, more questions get asked.
