Description
Every year, hundreds of movies make to movie theaters. Even more are released to the public on television or on DVD. But for every movie out there that made it all the way through the movie-making process into a complete film, there are plenty that never made it to the end. Making movies is hard. Like, incredibly hard. So many different aspects have to be considered, so many different moving pieces have to be juggled, so many different people have to coordinate their time and their talents, that it’s sometimes amazing that movies get made at all.
Well, these fifty didn’t. In each case someone, or perhaps a whole group of people, worked very hard to get a movie off the ground but, for whatever reason, couldn’t see it through to the end. Sometimes the script demanded a higher budget than a studio was willing to pay. Sometimes people involved with the movie couldn’t see eye to eye creatively. Sometimes just plain bad luck kept the movie from getting made. But whatever the reason, in each case we get a story of people struggling to get their creative vision on the screen against sometimes impossible odds. It can be sad to think about all the work that went into these movies that were ultimately never made, but it’s still fun to look back on these movies and wonder what could have been.
