VILLAGE DEITIES: Village Temples

AUTHOR’S NOTE

I am T.K. Maniyan, born in a village in India, graduated from a college in a semi-city, worked in the corporate world in a metropolitan city and finally retired now and settled in the cosmopolitan city-state of Singapore.

I have been brought up in a religious household and as such have always had an ardent interest in various gods and temples since childhood. Through this book, I wish to revisit my roots in the villages of India and reveal the history, culture & heritage behind some of the ancient temples here to the world. Though some of these temples are located in remote villages, they have been the source of immense hope, belief and confidence for many people like me over all these years.

This is my first attempt at wording my thoughts and I seek your understanding, support and feedback.

It has been a fascinating journey as well as a spiritually enriching one for me.
