The Gingerbread Man

The Gingerbread Man is a simple story that teaches a lot. When a Little Old Woman and a Little Old Man bake a Gingerbread Man the fun begins. . . No one wanted the Gingerbread Man until he started to run. Suddenly everyone wanted to eat him. The chase that followed gathered people and animals who wanted to join in the chase. The only one who did not chase him was the sly fox who offered to help him cross the river. This brought forth the subject of trust and those that lie to get their own way. And maybe the challenge of the Gingerbread Man bragging too much that no one could catch him, only to be caught in the end. A simple fable that means a lot. Encourage your child to talk about the story.
