The Most Influential Tweets of All Time!

Since the earliest days of Twitter, back in 2006, we have watched this obscure, novelty site morph into a world-changing news delivery service, a messaging hub, an information source, and a way to define our social ideology. It’s not Facebook, to be certain . . . but it was never meant to be.

What Twitter has become is a source. In fact, some could argue that it’s ‘the’ source for realtime information, traveling across the world at the speed of electrons, bringing global awareness into focus.

What a congressman says in Texas is instantly available to migrant farmers in Zimbabwe. What I think could, perhaps, cross the world and change the nature of human consciousness. Now, that’s unlikely, as I don’t say things that I think the rest of the world cares to hear, but who knows . . . 140 characters is my only limit.

So one day, you might say, “You remember that one guy, what was his name, Nicholas something or other, and he was the first one to say . . .” Not that this will happen, but it could. And that’s the point of Twitter I feel. It’s to change the world, one voice at a time, with just 140 characters.
