Description

Description:
" Organisational Behaviour:
Business Analysis through a Case Study "

Organisations are living entities with their own behaviour. Through a typical 'Vidsoft Case Study ' we endeavour to harness an important perspective of this very Organisational Behaviour.

We use the Vidsoft case to focus the study on organisational issues from different Management and Leadership styles: Management By Objectives (MBO), Transactional and Transformational Management.Vidsof is a good example of a rapidly expanding organisation with growing pains, typical of today's organisations.

As the organisations grow bigger, the need for Change Management becomes greater, the Communication and the Communication Channels are more complex. Conflict Resolution and Diversity demand formal handling and Games Theory awareness becomes a necessity.
The Human Resources Department's tasks are even harder to soften the growing pains through Training and Career Development of employees, procedures for Role incompatibility, Role Category and Role Conflict.

The Leadership is more focused on Decisions making and problem-solving with formal methods in place. And, the Organisation's culture develops day by day on the premise of work 'Groups' instead of work 'Teams': with all what this may carry!

This Business Study seeks to present to the Reader the situation from different Management and Business Analysis Perspectives: scenarios he / she may be living right now in his / her organisation.

In the process, we identify different Management Styles pertaining the Organisation: Management By Objectives (MBO), Transactional Management and Transformational.

Through this approach we look at keys organisational issues :

  • Vision

  • Management experience

  • Knowledge Management (or KM)

  • Job - design, redesign and job content

  • Career planning and Development (Recruitment policy)

The Analysis considers particularly such Organisational Issues which are known to emanate form Rapid Expansion and Growing Pains of Enterprises, such as:

  • Communication (or lack of it)

  • Change Management

  • Training and Career Development of Employees

  • Conflict (Games Theory awareness) and Diversity Handling

  • Role incompatibility, Role Category and Role Conflict

This book is the fruit of practical experience through real life situation scenarios encountered by the Author through a diverse Management Career.

The approach although practical, to guide the New Manager in addressing Organisational problems, it also has a strong academic flavour to help guide Post-Graduate Students in their post-graduation projects.
