At the Chepstow races she places a large bet using the money Phillip Carter paid for her painting.
All hopes of saving My Chance lay on the last race of the day.
But Maria’s tumultuous relationship with the beguiling Phillip Carter confuses her.
The young artist is commissioned to paint other horses at Carter’s estate and whilst staying the night at his ancient fortress, her feelings oscillate between annoyance and an amorous affair.
After an accidental success on the racecourse, Maria must decide which track to take.
Will she fall for the charming Carter or will her feelings for the ever-dependable Gary take a turn when he threatens to move to New Zealand?
