Part 2: Room Tone From Hell (Acoustics) is an overview of practical techniques and principals of managing acoustics in audio playback and recording environments. It is a rather unconventional introduction to sound and acoustic control to create environments that sound like comforting natural environments on recordings rather than like sterile rooms full of plastic, QRD diffusers, and rubber. For example, the idea of leaving foam rubber or fiberglass panels exposed into a recording or playback area is deemed acoustically unacceptable because they create unnatural smearing, unlike anything in nature.
