The Apology: What happens in the men's room stays in the men's room

This story is an apology to a man I have never met. It's not an excuse or a justification in any way. But, if I can word it just right, perhaps these thoughtful words will serve as a humble explanation of exactly what happened in the public men's room at the Loew's movie theater in the winter of 1984.
