The Marshal Who Fell Through Time

While in pursuit of a dangerous escaped convict, US Marshal of Reno, Nevada, Colt Buckeye, takes shelter from a snow storm in an old abandoned mine shaft on the Pyramid Lake Indian reservation up in the hills of the ancient sacred burial grounds . After his flashlight stops working he stumbles further into the cave and falls into a large hole in the middle of the path. Landing in a valley, he sees a stagecoach being robbed and mounting a horse he finds tethered to a nearby tree, he pursues the outlaws, shooting one of them off his horse as the rest flee. It's some time before he realises that he is no longer in the twenty first century, but has somehow been plunged back in time to 1881 Reno, Nevada. The criminal he is pursuing is a Shoshone murderer who escaped from prison. He also finds that somehow the man he is chasing has also ended up in the same time period and is trying to kill Colt.
The Buckeyes of 1881 own a ranch that Colt inherited from his father. The house is the same and the land is the same. The occupants are his ancestors and he arrives there on Christmas Eve, the very night that his great grandfather, Abraham Buckeye, was born.
