Description

Meditations on the Advent Season for Liturgical Year 2015. IF God is for us who can be against us, yet every day we face challenges in our daily life, which brings into perspective the reason for a need of a higher power in our lives. For those of us who have been given the gift of faith we know and believe that this higher power is the "Word that became flesh" (Jn. 1:14) for us over two thousand years ago. In a little town called Bethlehem he was born and when the Holy Family returned to Nazareth he lived a life of humble obedience until his hour came. Yearly the Church celebrates this eternal Mystery and causes us to be filled with wonder every year, when after having sated our contemplative gaze on this Mystery, thru liturgical acts and meditation on the scriptures, we take on more of his likeness thru imitation of his life. Advent has always been a time of re-awakening within our minds and heart, in the Church throughout the world, a deeper love for the One gift of Emmanuel, God is With Us. We know he is with us because he is with us in the Holy Eucharist as well as all the sacraments which bring us closer to him and his likeness. In this set of meditations for the Liturgical Year of 2015 we hope to being about a deeper love of Jesus Christ by giving more attention to the Incarnate Word and what he means to us as a Church and individually. We ask our question how is God With Us in Jesus Christ in my life today and at this present moment. Let us join our brothers and sisters throughout the world as we together sit at the feet of Jesus Christ and choose the "better part," while at the same time "pondering all these things in our hearts," along with the Blessed Virgin Mary, who is already joined eternally with Christ.
