Description

Writing poetry has been a way for me to share some of my life with others. That includes my love for my wife Cecilia and my views on life in general and on happiness.

I am a very positive person, yet after fifty years of marriage to Barbara I became consumed with grief over her death. Some of my poetry focuses on returning to happiness.

All of the love poems in this collection were written for my current wife, Cecilia. She is a gift from God and a blessing. She makes my life complete again. She is the light in my life and her energy inspires me to do more and be better. She shows me the path of all that is good and right in this world and I will love her until the end of time and for another day.

I posted much of the work in this collection of poems on Facebook, in Writing and Poetry Groups. Those groups include over 1.5 million members, giving my work broad exposure. It was well accepted and even praised by many.

My Poem "To Ceci" in Coffee House Poetry was commented on by Cain Bohrer, who said, "This was so sweet and happy. It was really refreshing and uplifting to read. My favorite line was, 'On plus one in the grandest sum.' Technically, I admired your mastery of tone in this piece and thought the rhyme was really effective in creating that joyful tone. Thanks for Sharing."

Puntte Raujan in Purity in Motion said, "Awesome poetry Lawrence! The vast beauty of our universe is so well described by you in celestial poetry. Love it."

Bettina Frank said, "Love your poem, absolutely, exceptional."

Delano Johnson, Poet commented on "The Wonder of Time." He said, "Very nice Lawrence Stovey, I really enjoyed reading this great tribute to time. We all seem to waste time in our own ways without realizing how precious every second is. Most only realize it when the last grains of sand are dropping through the hour glass of life. This poem is a great reminder to take heed of every second. Thanks for sharing."

Zachary D. Switzer commented on my tribute to my brother, Robert, in Writer's Group. He said, "Awesome Lawrence. As a poet this is a poem that has everything a poem should have. You articulated it in such and impeccable way. I commend you on a job well done, sir."

Gail Hunt in Purity in Motion, said, "Lawrence dear friend, your touching and beautiful words about your brother brought tears to my eyes. I'm very sorry for your loss and I love reading about your beautiful memories. Thank you for sharing a piece of your heart. Your brother sounds like an awesome man."

In Writer's Group, Steven Evans said, "A beautiful tribute Lawrence, I felt every word that you wrote."

Ronde Rayburn said, "That was a very nice tribute to your brother Bob and such a nice way to share his memory. Beautifully written. Well done!"
