Please note: I did not send any mass emails trying to give away my book so as to garner "unbiased reviews." I wrote this book mainly for me and some family and friends who loved Heather's story. I offer it here because it is a very good read, especially if you love cats, or the idea of taking in strays.
Heather was a young stray cat who appeared on our property in the middle of the summer. We were not "cat people," and had no intention of ever becoming "cat people." Over several months, I fell in love with the little stray who refused to go away. I eventually named her Heather, and I began discussing the "adoption" issue with my husband. "The Chronicles of Heather" is our story, one of conflicted emotions and intense devotion. It is the story of my husbands evolution from "were not having a cat" to "Hey, why isn't Heather on MY lap?" It is the story of how we became "cat people."
Our story is told in text, many color photos I took along the way, and poems. It is definitely a book for cat people! It is also a book that could be read allowed to kids. If you are not a cat person, it just might turn you into one!
You will read about the struggles we went through in our decision to take a stray cat into a household which already included two birds and two cat-hating dogs. You will read about how Heather took over our hearts, and demanded that we be her people. It is the story of how we took care of her through that first long, cold winter, without really "keeping" her. And later, how we brought her in and made her a part of our family.
