About Yoga Ku??alin? Upani?ad
This Upani?ad concerning Ku??alin? Yoga belongs to Kri?na Yajurveda. There are three chapters in it. In the first chapter, the two causes of Citta V?tti, the three methods of controlling Pr?na – moderation in diet, ?sana and ?akti C?lini Mudr? are described. Then Sarasvati C?lana, types of Pr?n?y?ma - S?ryabhedi, Ujj?yi, Sh?tali, Bhastrik?, etc., three Bandhas – Moola Bandha, Uddiy?na Bandha and J?landhara Bandha, obstacles in yoga and protection from them, awakening of Ku??alin? through yoga practice, penetration of three Granthis, Ku??alin? entering Sahasr?ra Cakra (thousand petalled lotus), dissolution of Pr?na, etc. into ?iva, realization of Self everywhere during Sam?dhi and subjects like Sam?dhi Yoga, etc. are described in detail.
About Yoga Dar?ana Upani?ad
Originally, this Upani?ad is called J?b?ladar?ana Upani?ad, but it is also known as Yoga Dar?ana Upani?ad. It belongs to S?maveda. It primarily deals with A????ga Yoga philosophy. The main theme of A????ga Yoga is described in it in the form of dialogue between Lord Datt?treya and Sage S??k?ti.
There are mainly ten kha??as (parts) in it. In the first part the philosophy of the eight limbs of yoga and the ten yamas are described. In the second part the ten niyams are explained. Nine types of asanas are described in the third part. There is a long explanation of introduction to n???s, the pilgrimage to the Self and the glory of the knowledge of Self-realization in the fourth part. Methods of the purification of the nadis and the self-purification are described in the fifth part. Pr???y?ma, its methods of practice, results and applications are described in the sixth part. Praty?h?ra, its types and results are described in the seventh part. Dh?ra?? and dhy?na are described in the eighth and ninth parts. The state of sam?dhi and its results are described in the last tenth part.
About N?davindu Upani?ad
N?davindu Upani?ad belongs to ?gveda. In the beginning of this Upani?ad various limbs of Ha?sa in the form of O?k?ra are described. Then the twelve m?tr?s of O?k?ra and their application are elaborated. The topics like the condition of a s?dhaka united with yoga, destruction of the pr?rabdha karmas of the wise, various types of n?da and n?d?nusandh?na s?dhan? are explained. At the end the effect of n?da on the mind, dissolution of the mind into n?da and state of mind absorbed in n?da are described.
Thus, n?d?nusandh?na (the exploration of the n?d?) a major practice of N?dayoga for attaining manolaya (dissolution of the mind) is presented in this Upani?ad.
