Sent back in time, Thea and Stephen find themselves stranded in a strange museum and have no idea where they are located. Thea feels she can translate the inscriptions on the forward time machine and get it to unlock. Once unlocked, the manual Stephen possesses for it will help them return to the present.

There is just one small problem: there’s an angry mob headed toward them and they have to get out of the museum in a hurry. The time machine took them back to Tehran, Iran in 1979 on the eve of the take-over of the American Embassy. The mob headed toward the embassy is coming their way.

Now Thea and Stephen are trapped in a strange city where they don’t speak the language. Both of them are obviously out of place in a city where it’s open season on English speakers. They have to find a place to wait out the storm of the embassy takeover while avoiding the stares of the local populace. However, the doors to the backward time machine will only remain open for twenty-four hours.

Will Thea and Stephen find their way back to the museum where both time machines are stored? Will they avoid the mobs that search for them? And what about the mysterious stranger from Germany?
