“I did, last night when she emailed them to me.”
“Why didn’t you let me see it?”
Sheila chuckled.
What was going on?
“Because I have the final say. I looked them over and the terms were acceptable to me.”
Sheila smiled approvingly.
“That is exactly the kind of attitude and leadership we are looking for in Benton Farms wives!” the HOA president said excitedly.
“What on earth?” Nate asked. The meeting was truly bizarre.
“Dear,” his wife began, “as we’ve talked about, the rules in the neighborhood are very strict. Things that go on in our area, like your little friend Rob who cheated on Kathy last month, are not tolerated in Benton Farms.”
April paused to let her words sink in. Did Nate know where she was heading?
“Corporal punishment is used to keep husbands in line. People simply pay too much for these nice homes to have it ruined by the immature actions of silly men.”
Nate couldn’t believe what he was hearing. Corporal punishment? Surely this was all one big joke…
“In fact,” Sheila picked up, “corporal punishment is not only encouraged but is required to remain in good standing.”
