This novella is a complex character driven exploration of one summer on a Greek Island and the lives of two women who are forever changed by their relationships with a book store owner and each other.

When the lively Sophia arrives on the island to work in his bookstore, Andrew thinks it will be an easy summer and the perfect way to lick his wounds after a tumultuous year. Paradise actually feels like Paradise for a short time, with grapefruits and trips to the beach and late nights filled with whisky and dancing. When his old lover, Natalie, returns, unexpectedly, and demands to be treated as she always was, that is when the whole world unravels.

Darkly funny and intimate, with a narrator who is not to be trusted, we get a glimpse of what happens when you fail at being who you thought you were.
