La Abeja

José, an illegal Mexican living in LA, working at an auto body shop painting Aztec images on low rider hoods, knows that Julia, a pretty white professional, is his destined love. But Julia is filled with doubt. Then, on a ski trip to the Andes she is ‘disappeared’ by the Argentinian military and placed in a clandestine prison, where, selected as the favorite of El Capitano, a sadistic torturer, she clings to José’s promise of eternal love to survive. José undertakes a desperate odyssey to find her, courageously navigating the sinister labyrinths of Buenos Aires during the Dirty War, and succeeding in an incredible rescue. Set in LA and Buenos Aires, 1976-1978.
