Description
The purpose of this book has already begun to be realized, and I will be thrilled to see it continue as people read and add more pieces to the puzzle. The 'La Formulae' symbols have been translated into two codes so far. For us to get answers to the strange shapes on a page, that the women in my family have looked at for 20 years has been appreciated. To have people come forward with their stories has added insight to a dark history. It has been a welcome change to the secrets the men in our family kept.
The McGinnis sisters are happy to share the "Oak Island Connection," as a historical fiction, based on the stories told by the family and heard in Mahone Bay. We hope you enjoy reading the family stories as much as we enjoyed listening to them. Our grandfather, Bill, grew-up on Oak Island. His grandfather George told him many stories that he had heard from his grandfather, Daniel McGinnis.
While compiling these stories, and trying not to interject my own imagination, a new fictional novel emerged. Although both books are based on the same information handed down, the second book, "Oak Island Life," has more details. It is a fictional love story in a familiar setting, that portrays the island as it could have been viewed 220+ years ago. Gain a new perspective of the Oak Island saga. Imagine the hardships of the early settlers as they dug during the final fruitless days of autumn, when the blustering wind chased after them through the leafless branches of the Oak trees. Think of them sitting in their cabins, empty-handed for another cold and long winter.
What came across in all of the stories in these books, is a connection to something deeper. The foundation is a strong belief that Oak Island is something worth the investment of valuable time. I wish you luck in your search and I BELIEVE everyone who has felt drawn to Oak Island has something to offer and someone will find the answer.
