The Brain of the Computer

This book is going to teach you the fundamentals of a basic computer system. Computer concepts will slowly be introduced throughout the book.

A basic computer block diagram and a basic computer schematic diagram are introduced in this book. These diagrams show the parts that are inside the CPU, and the parts that are on the motherboard. The design and operation of these parts are explained down to the component level using 67 diagrams. I then show you how those digital parts are being used, when executing test instructions on a computer simulator.

The timing circuit that controls the execution of these computer parts is the most detailed part of the book. The book explains in simple terms how the timing circuit operates. You will be using a web computer simulator to execute and display test programs. Every part of the hardware and every part of the software will be explained down to the binary numbers that control it.
